Day 13 ~ July 21, 2023
Calling attendance for Day 13. Who’s present? Raise your hand. If you are not present and centered, it’s time to Try Some Grounding!
Grounding refers to the ability to return to the present moment with sustained awareness using the sense of touch. Physically touching something or someone is very powerful. It provides a connection to the energy of what we come in contact with. Think about what it means to touch a loved one or your pets, or even a favorite book, jewelry, or toy.
Here are some grounding techniques to try when your mind starts to take you away from the present moment.
~ get yourself into some water, splash some water on your face, or run water over your hands.
~ maybe tickle your soles with a barefoot walk in some grass, dirt, or sand.
~ hold a piece of ice, a cold soda, or a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
~ call in the aid of your pets and pet your animals!
~ pick up and touch things around you, select objects with unique textures or weight.
~ lie down on the ground.
~ stamp your feet on the ground and let out any unwanted energy or thoughts as you stomp.
~ try stretching like a cat, they are masters at it, and touch your toes or top of your head.
By incorporating grounding exercises into our daily routines, we can make a significant difference in our overall well-being. Grounding not only brings us back to ourselves, but it truly embraces the now.
