Day 1 ~ July 9, 2023
Today starts my 21-day Awaken in the Present: Embrace the Now Challenge!
The challenge is all about being in the present moment. For those of you who have worked with me know that being in the present is key to living a fuller life because we are not caught up in the whirlwind of thoughts, plans, and worries about the future or dwelling on the past.
Embracing the now takes practice and by no means is an easy task. It has become normal to long for what lies ahead or to recall what has already passed. It is so very easy to forget the now. The feeling of floating in our day comes directly from this. How can we be grounded if we aren’t in the here and now.
Embracing the now, living in the present moment, is a profound practice that can bring immense joy, fulfillment, awareness, healing, and peace to our lives.
That is why I invite you all to take this challenge with me. To be curious about what it really feels like to be present.
To get us started on Day 1 of the Embrace the Now Challenge I offer an easy exercise.
Today I would like you to create an intention for what you would like to get out of the next 21 days. Easy, right? To come up with your intention you must be in the present. That's the fun part of it all.
Now take a moment and take a few good deep breaths. In through your mouth, hold for just a moment, and then out through your mouth. Then return to your normal breathing.
And now focus on something that is directly in front of you. Don't think about what you are focusing on, just set a soft gaze upon it. Treat it as a focal point, that’s all. And just keep breathing. Let your intention come to you naturally. Don't force it.
Feel free to share your intention. Sharing will affirm your commitment to your intention and the challenge. And with that said, I will share my intention.
My intention for the challenge is to gain more clarity on why and when I slip from the present moment and why I do what I do when it happens.
